1997 Venus Williams becomes the first woman since Pam Shriver in 1978 to reach the US Open final on debut and the first unseeded female US Open finalist since 1958. She lost to Martina Hingis 6-0 6-4.

1998 Venus won he first tour singles title at Oklahoma City in February beating Joannette Kruger 6-3 6-2.

1998 Venus Williams with Justin Gimelstob won the mixed doubles title at the Australian Open beating Cyril Suk and Helena Sukova 6-2 6-1 and the French Open beating Luis Lobo and Serena Williams 6-4 6-4.

1999 Venus and Serena teamed up to win the doubles titles at the French Open beating Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova 6-3 6-7 8-6. and the US Open beating Chanda Rubin and Sandrine Testud 4-6 6-1 6-4, becoming the first sister team to win a Grand Slam doubles title in the 20th century.

2000 Venus won her first Wimbledon title beating Lindsay Davenport 6-3 7-6 (7-3) and went on to win the US Open again beating Lindsay Davenport 6-4 7-5. Venus and Serena also won the doubles title beating Julie Halard and Ai Sugiyama 6-3 6-2.

2000 Venus Williams won the Olympic gold medal in Sydney beating Elena Dementieva 6-2 6-4.

2001 Venus won Wimbledon beating Justine Henin 6-1 3-6 6-0 and repeated her feat of the previous year winning the US Open this time beating her sister Serena Williams 6-2 6-4.

2002 Venus Williams became number one in the world on the 25th February.

2002 Venus and Serena won the Wimbledon doubles title beating Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suarez 6-2 7-5.

2003 Venus and Serena won the Australian Open doubles title beating Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suarez 4-6 6-4 6-3.

2005 Venus won Wimbledon beating Lindsay Davenport 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 9-7.

2007 Venus won Wimbledon beating Marion Bartoli 6-4 6-1.

2008 Venus Williams again won Wimbledon beating her sister Serena Williams 7-5 6-4 in the final.
